 New budget airline Rayani Air Sdn Bhd has picked Langkawi as its aviation hub in its effort to attract more tourists to the resort island.

Its managing director, Ravi Alagendrran, said a Boeing 737-400 would commence the Langkawi-Kota Baru flight operation while another would begin the Langkawi-Kuala Lumpur destination.

“The company has allocated two planes for overseas flight operations next year,” Alagendrran said at the launch of Rayani Air at the Langkawi International Airport today.

Rayani Air, a new airline base in Melaka plan to start operating using the Boeing 737 to meet the demand for additional, higher-quality passenger service linking Malacca with many popular markets of Peninsular Malaysia, and Sabah and Sarawak.  

The airline bases its business and marketing strategies on achieving high, and profitable, load factors through absorption of un-met demand in three key air-traffic categories: 

  

1) Un-served and under-served routes on which high un-met demandcurrently exists or can be readily developed;  

2) Serving key niche markets where demand is either unmet or poorly served; 

3) Meeting peak traffic demands on certain key regional, seasonal, and variable routes where very high load factors can be predicted despite existing but lower-quality competition or where competition cannot meet the demand 

In addition, Rayani Air is designed around, and operated utilizing, the traditional travel agency to ensure low operating and marketing costs, maximum efficiency indeployment of its resources, and a high level of customer service and convenience.
