Falafel

Falafel is a very popular food in the Arab East, where it is regarded as a national food. Although falafel is made from chickpeas over here, in Lebanon it is usually made from dried fava beans, with a handful of dried chickpeas sometimes thrown in. Favas have a wonderful flavour, but if you can't find them, dried white beans, such as cannellini or navy, can be substituted. Here we provide two falafel recipes, one with chickpeas, the other using fava beans..

LIMA 2011

LANGKAWI INTERNATIONAL MARITIME & AEROSPACE EXHIBITION

6 - 10 DECEMBER 2011

LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA

Exclusive trade days for the industry only will be for 3 days from Tuesday till Thursday. The exhibition halls are open from 10am until 5pm. Flying displays will take place each morning throughout the trade days. The trade days are restricted to accredited industry, defence and government professionals. The show opens to the general public on Friday and Saturday. Associated industry and technology conferences and seminars will be held at LIMA during show week.

A Career Day will also be scheduled on Friday and Saturday to promote awareness and educate career professionals college students and entry-level job seekers interested in a career in the aerospace and maritime industries. With the support from the corporate industry giants, the Career Day will be designed to empower students with the right mindset, skills and experiences so they can succeed in a global, technologically-driven and fast-moving 21st century.

Go- Kart Race Will Be Reintroduced In Langkawi

LANGKAWI, April 26 (Bernama)
A go-kart race will be reintroduced here in October after a six-year hiatus.

The All Stars Karting International will be held at the Morac Go-Kart International Circuit after the race was last held here in 2005, said Langkawi Motorsport Club vice-president Datuk Mansor Ismail.

He said the Asia Series Go-Kart Race 2011 organised by LMSC had just concluded the second of four rounds.

National racer Nabil Jeffri, who is a 1Youth 1Malaysia icon, led the Sonic Sport category after the second round held at the Shah Alam go-kart circuit on Saturday.

The third round will be held at the Sepang go-kart circuit on July 3.
