Langkawi Restaurants - Rasa Restaurant Langkawi

Malaysian Food is not one particular distinction of food but a culinary diversity originating from it's multi-ethnic population of Malay, Indian, Eurasian, Chinese, Nyonya and the Indigenous peoples of Borneo. A brief look into the past and how this multi-ethnic country came to be, is essential in order to comprehend how such a cosmic array of food, has now come to be known all over the world as 'Malaysian Food'. Presented here are some of the various delicious and popular dishes from this rainbow of gastronomic spectrum, with pictures and detailed recipes, from each unique ethnic kitchen.

Malay Satay — those little skewers of meat with peanut sauce and ketupat (Malay rice cake) is a very popular dish in Malaysia. Walk down any street in the country and the mouthwatering aroma of Satay exudes from practically every corner you pass: road side Malay stalls, hawker centers, pasar malam (night markets), kopi tiam (Chinese coffee shops), and even high-end restaurants. Of course Satay is universally loved across Southeast Asia. (It’s commonly believed that Satay is the region’s distant cousin to Middle-Eastern Kebabs, thanks to the spice route and the culinary influence of early Arab traders.)

Saving Money on Business Travel

Some time back, it was very easy for majority of businesses to afford spending thousands of dollars on world class conferences, luxury hotel rooms, unlimited business dinners, and first class airline travel for their executives. However, in the present scenario of unstable global economies, every business tries to focus on cutting down costs as far as possible. A lot of money is usually spent on business travel and companies usually find it difficult to reduce this cost.
But, there are numerous ways in which any company can save large amounts of money on business travel. Here are a few tips and guidelines to do so.
• The idea of booking a first class airline ticket for every executive that goes on an official trip can be dropped.

• Popular services like Orbitz and Travelocity can help the corporate executives find dirt cheap airline tickets for a two-way journey. Round trips are usually offered at discounted rates and must be given preference to reduce unnecessary expenditure on business travel. These services usually offer great discounts and incentives to corporate houses if availed for a longer period of time.

• Using a corporate flight account or a corporate credit card to book tickets for business travel can help you earn points, which can later be redeemed to get attractive discounts, free travel opportunities, holiday packages, etc.

• Hiring chauffeur-driven limousines or a shuttle bus at the destination for a group of 4-5 executives can be much more cost-effective than renting a cab or a car for every single individual.

• Similarly, year-long tie-ups of companies with hotels located at most frequented destinations can help save a lot on hotel stays and food during a business trip.

Tun Mahathir Is Against Langkawi Bridge Project

LANGKAWI, Aug 23 (Bernama) - Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is against the proposed Langkawi bridge project as it will erode the island's unique features.

"Langkawi must remain as an island and unsuitable to be turned into a land mass," he told reporters after presenting chocolates and cash to 120 orphans and special children at Masjid Istiqamah in Kuala Teriang here Sunday night.

Two companies based in Perlis had proposed building a 48km bridge linking Langkawi to Kuala Perlis on the mainland.

Juruelit Sdn Bhd executive chairman Kamarudin Husin said on Friday the company had enough funds to build the project which includes a monorail bridge.

On another note, Tun Mahathir said he was disappointed that Muslims had become enemies just because they had different views.

He added as fellow Muslims they should not turn bitter enemies as it would divide and weaken them.

The former premier cautioned that this could result in Muslims losing power in their own land.

Tun Mahathir and wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali later joined 500 Muslims for buka puasa, maghrib, isyak dan tarawih prayers.

Langkawi Shrimps ...

Prawn aquaculture farming and marketing ..
Langkawi Shrimps Sdn Bhd supply Black Tiger Prawn and Vannamei White Shrimp.

LANGKAWI SHRIMPS SDN BHD was incorporated on 7th October 2003,under the Malaysian Companies Act 1965. The company's principal activity is the business of live aquaculture of which prawn farming is the principal activity. To buy and sell the same by wholesale or retail in Malaysia or elsewhere and generally to carry on the trade of sellers of aquaculture in all its business. The company's maiden project was to revive the operation of prawn farming activity in Bukit Malut, Langkawi. The farm has 40 ponds in about 282 acres of land. The first phase of operation began with 10 ponds and LSSB has successfully revived its operation and performed first harvest in 2004.

This success has now geared LSSB to collaborate with MONODON AQUACULTURE on the second phase of its operation to revive all the other ponds and the set-up of a hatchery and packaging entity. LSSB's current expansion has lead to the purchase and development of 20 ponds in Jerlun Kedah, for tiger prawn culture. Langkawi Shrimps Sdn Bhd deal primarily but not exclusively with marine shrimp. LSSB is now making inroads to farm and market other species such as fishes, mud crabs and lobsters.
