About 300 sailors, including from abroad, will compete in the five-day Perdana Langkawi International Regatta from the the National Sailing Centre, here, beginning Feb 11.
Kedah Sailing Association deputy chairman Mohd Afendy Abdullah said the countries participating would be Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, India, Bahrain, Kuwait and New Zealand, besides Malaysia.
"States except Sarawak will also take part in the event which features 10 categories," he toldBernama.
He said among the categories were the Optimist, Laser Radial, Laser Standard and Int 470.
Mohd Afendy said Malaysia would send 30 sailors for the regatta as part of their preparations for the Sea Games in Singapore in June.
