This December, the vicinity of Kuah Town will be transformed to an enchanting Wonderland filled with fun day activities and spectacular night time visuals. LANGKAWI MAGIKAL NIGHT;

Langkawi Magical Night will showcase 3 main elements to give public a huge impact and thrilling experience. The elements are Water Fountain & Laser Projection, H2O Special and Fireworks & Pyro Techniques.
CONCERT;

Music fans, you'll have stars in your eyes at this line-up of spectacular pop International artists such as singer Rossa and Ungu from Indonesia, Sek Loso from Thailand and our very own Anuar Zain, Dato' M. Nasir, Black, Stacy and many more thrilling performances.
BAZAAR MAGIKAL;


Bazaar Magikal will feature stalls selling an assortment of cool stuff plus rare and unique items from Malaysia and all around the globe.
SELERA RASA MAGIKAL;

'Selera Rasa Magikal' is a place where you can experience local and international food in 1 zone. It consists of 2 segments which are 'Rasa Seribu Satu Malaysia' and 'International Food Bazaar'.
FAMILY MOMENTS ;

he whole beach area will be converted for public to enjoy the fun filled activities, adventures, special rides and colourful parades. Hot air balloon ride, colourful parades, floral and lantern show are some of the activities that will be a unique experience for the public. There will also be plenty of inflatables and other carnival-type games to test your physical and mental stamina. Don't forget to bring your family!

The Agro Technology Park was developed in 1990. It functions as a centre for technology transfer and information dissemination concerning agro-industry. The park is also designed as an eco-tourism spot for visitors to Langkawi. It is located at the neighbourhood of Lubuk Semilang Recreational Park with panoramic view of forested Gunung Raya catchment area.
The AgroTechnology Park is only 10 minutes away by car/taxi from Kuah or Langkawi International Airports. The major attractions include technology information centre, tropical fruit farms, sheltered hi-tech vegetable farms and naturally conserved surrounding areas for recreational purposes

Ssangyong E&C Begins Construction of "New Monaco" on Malaysian Islands

 Ssangyong Engineering & Construction will be partner to the Malaysian government in a project to develop Langkawi, an archipelago in the Andaman Sea off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia.

The government plans to develop the islands as a world-class resort area comparable to Bali or Monaco. The construction contractor said on November 12 that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the St. Regis Hotel Langkawi and Convention Center.


At the ceremony, 350 dignitaries were present including Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najib, Second Minister of Finance Ahmad Husni, Rajawali Group CEO Peter Sondakh, Korean Ambassador to Malaysia Cho Byung-jae, as well as Ssangyong E&C chairman Kim Seok-jun. ...more..

No plans to reduce landing fees at Langkawi International Airport - MAHB

SEPANG: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has no plans to reduce the landing fees charged to airline companies at Langkawi International Airport.
MAHB Senior General Manager Operations Services Datuk Azmi Murad said the company must accept the rate decided by the government.
He said this to reporters after a ceremony to place a donation box for the Warrior Fund 2013 here on Friday.

He was commenting on the recent proposal by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for MAHB to review the landing charges at Langkawi International Airport to attract more direct flights to the island.

Bronok Salad, Langkawi's Exclusive Culinary Dish
The resort island of Langkawi offers to the locals and tourists many picturesque and charming locations apart from being a shopping haven, but there is one other thing also for which it wins many a hearts - its variety of culinary dishes such as the famous grilled fish and other seafood offerings.

However, there is one culinary dish that stands out, the 'kerabu bronok'. This is a kind of shredded vegetables mixed with sliced 'bronok'. ... By Suhaila Said

BRONOK

Kerabu bronok is actually a local salad in which the main ingredient is bronok, a type of 'timun laut' (sea cucumber that some Malaysians consider having medicinal values) that can be found only in Langkawi.
To those who have tried this salad explain the bronok as being a bit chewy but crunchy and soft.
The raw bronok is slippery to hold and is either dark chocolate (when mature) or pinkish (when young) in colour....By Suhaila Said

MAKING THE SALAD

According to Jah Ahmad, 84, who makes the salad, the bronok's head and tail sections are chopped off to drain its contents - most of these mud and sea water.
Using a sharp knife, Jah slices the bronok into thin small portions before thoroughly rinsing the slices with water to clean away any possible remnants of the mud.

Lada, Pekan Artisan to develop two locations in Langkawi

 The Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) and Pekan Artisan Sdn Bhd, a tourism resort and high-impact attraction developer, are collaborating to develop two unique locations with a gross development value of RM2.4bil in Langkawi.

The locations are the Oriental Village and Pulau Intan Besar, a small island next to Langkawi’s main island.
Pekan Artisan chief executive officer Robert Wyatt said the developments were eco-friendly, and sensitively designed to reflect the beauty of Langkawi. “Both locations will offer visitors a ‘back-to-nature’ experience that will also connect them with the history and culture of Malaysia,” he told reporters after signing a memorandum of agreement on the development with Lada. ...
