FOODIES' DELIGHT:
 Three-day carnival, featuring 11 types of laksa from Malaysia and neighbouring countries, a hit

LANGKAWI:
For her, the three-day event was an occasion that she could not miss as she was a fan of the Malaysian delicacy which comprises fish-based soup and thick rice noodle.
The 50-year-old administrator of a private firm here took three of her friends to the event which was held at Laman Padi in Pantai Chenang here, where a laksa garden selling 11 types of laksa from Malaysia and neighbouring countries, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

"This is my second day at the event and I am very happy to have the chance to enjoy all types of laksa.
" All laksa taste different, even those prepared by neighbouring states such as Perlis, Kedah and Penang.
"My favourite is the laksa from Vietnam. I just love the blend of the spices in the soup," Kim said yesterday.
Kim was among thousands of local and international visitors at the event organised by the Langkawi Development Authority (Lada).

The annual event was introduced last year in conjunction with a rebranding campaign to stimulate the island's tourism sector.
Another visitor, Belinda Watson, 39, from Manchester, has become a fan of the delicacy after having a small bowl of "laksa kaw" from Kedah. "I love the mixed spices and the fish used to make the soup....
